It Could Happen Here:
Why America Is Tipping from Hate to the Unthinkable –
And How We Can Stop It

Author & ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt
Hosted via Zoom by Peggy & Rabbi Jerry David and Congregation Kol Ami

The Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern NJ and its Esther Raab Holocaust Museum & Goodwin Education Center, in partnership with area Synagogues and other local community organizations, will promote the reading of a single book throughout the community. Local clergy, educators, community lay leaders and/or professional staff will facilitate a variety of discussions to discuss the themes and messages of the book and ideally strategize as to how to utilize the information/education obtained in order to further strengthen our Jewish and entire community.

Jonathan Greenblatt, current CEO of the Anti Defamation League and author of It Could Happen Here, will be hosted (via Zoom) by Congregation Kol Ami on September 11 at 7:00 pm. The JCRC of SNJ and its Esther Raab Holocaust Museum & Goodwin Education Center invite you to read the book and join the conversation of how hate can happen anywhere.

This JCRC Raab/Goodwin Center Initiative is funded by the generosity of Peggy and Rabbi Jerry David in memory of the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust and in honor of those who miraculously survived.

Those joining the conversation can get copies of the book at no charge!

Registration (below) is required for this free program.
Books will be available for pickup; no more than 2 per household, please.
Zoom login and book pick-up information will be sent along with your registration confirmation.

It’s almost impossible to imagine that unbridled hate and systematic violence could come for us or our families. But it has happened in our lifetimes in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
And it could happen here.

In this urgent book, Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the storied ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), sounds an alarm, warning that this age-old trend is gathering momentum in the United States — and that violence on a more catastrophic scale could be just around the corner.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Greenblatt offers a bracing primer on how we — as individuals, as organizations, and as a society — can strike back against hate.
